The initial conference was held at Sheffield Hallam University in 2003. This included a launch event for Higher Education Funding Council for England's (HEFCE) Value for Money study on
Cleaning Management, and discussed the formation and nature of the proposed Association. A successful supplier exhibition accompanied a lively programme of speakers and workshops.
The first full BACHE conference event is planned for June 29/30 2004.
