You will be responsible for the day to day line management of an administrative group and hall teams delivering front line services to a wide range of students and property owners. Complex multi tasking is a feature of this role.
You will develop new procedures, deliver presentations and training, write reports and undertake a wide range of analytical tasks. You will also undertake frequent site visits and have a practical input to the ongoing management of large scale residential properties.
A degree or equivalent qualification is essential, preferably in a business related subject. You must consistently maintain a calm and positive approach under pressure. You should be resilient and tenacious, capable of prioritising a rapidly changing workload and have substantial experience in motivating and supporting diverse staff groups.
Sound experience in professional administration, good IT skills and an understanding of database applications is necessary.
A CRB check will need to be carried out and there are particular essential requirements for working additional hours evenings and weekends throughout August and September.

The University is seeking a Deputy Director of Estates to manage and deliver the Facility Services aspects of the Estates Office.

We need a creative, self-motivated person to deliver effective space management services for this dynamic University. Reporting to the Director of Estates, this strategic role will involve managing systems to maximise the use of space, carrying out space utilisation surveys and audits and line managing support staff. You will also help develop and deliver the Service Business Plan, set policies and standards and disseminate best practice at all levels.
You will be a talented leader, motivator and influencer with strong powers of analysis and excellent organisational, report-writing and presentation skills. Your Honours Degree or equivalent in Facilities Management will be supported by proven experience in space management. This will have included using a space management database, developing and implementing standards and carrying out space utilisation surveys. You will also be capable of using a range of IT software, including CAD, and working to deadlines in a pressurised environment.
